Thank you for this! I have two questions: 1. Is there an Anglican book(s) that address this issue you would recommend? 2. Is there a recommended, evangelical exposition on the Nicene Creed? I find many expositions of the Apostle’s Creed, but only Roman Catholic expositions of the Nicene Creed but no evangelical exposition. Thank you in advance.
Paul, I commend the book The Evangelical Anglican Doctrine of Infant Baptism, which includes contributions by John Stott and Alec Motyer. Beyond this, other books addressing the sacraments may be helpful.
Regarding the Nicene Creed, you may find the book Evangelicals and Nicene Faith, edited by Timothy George, worth checking out. I haven’t read it, and it may be a broader treatment than what you seek. You may also be interested in reading the section “Baptized for forgiveness” (p. 625-642) from Gerald Bray’s systematic theology God is Love.
