Church History, Part 7: Ignatius (2nd session)

The Rev. Adam Young teaches through the history of the church in this video.

“Continuing to look at Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch, we consider two final important aspects of his letters. Firstly, we look at his obsession with his own death and insistence on being martyred. We ask if behind the florid and graphic language of his Asianism (his writing and rhetorical style) there are good reasons for him to desire death in Rome. Secondly, we consider his crystal clear teaching on the person of Jesus as fully God, fully Man, and the one in whom the Old Testament prophets believed and had hope. As the church begins to grapple with the rise of heresy from within does the teaching of the apostles have the answers needed?”
