Church History, Part 4: 1st Epistle of Clement

The Rev. Adam Young teaches through the history of the church in this video.

“Turning westward from the Eastern Roman Empire we come across the so called First Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians. This letter reads and feels substantially different from the Didache and Barnabas, having been written in a very different context and with very different concerns. But it teaches us important lessons about the early faith of the church with regards to the gospel, salvation by faith, repentance, and election. It also deals extensively with church leadership structures and struggles, whilst giving us good reason to have caution over the authority of long held and popular ‘traditions’ within the church.”
